1999 Wildcat Park Pow Wow

Here's a few pictures from the Wildcat Park Pow Wow that you may enjoy. I want to thank Wally, Dave, Jamie and Tony for their help in assisting me in demonstrating this lost art to the many interested people who watched during the course of the weekend. Thanks guys...

The polished flint on the end of the table is a very popular item with all generations:


Sharon's friendly smile is quick to welcome visitors as they view the many arrowheads of various materials with special attention given to the multi-colored flint ridge flint:


Here's four of the pieces I chipped Saturday morning. The brown one is a button based dovetail made out of Flint River material from Georgia. The others are made from Flint Ridge material:


Wally, from Nanticoke, PA, is carefully abrading a piece of Novaculite that he made into a 3" corner notch:


Dave from Weirton from WV takes a brief moment to catch a glimpse of the American Indians dancing in the area:


Jamie from Rural Valley, PA is momentarily interrupted as he works on a corner notched Flint Ridge piece. Notice how handy he keeps his Ishi stick:


Tony also from Nanticoke, PA is preparing to rake the edge in preparation for his final pass with the Ishi stick:
